CTO Blue and White any occasion

**** 300 follower give away here.

Today's challenge is to create something for any occasion using blue and white.   My photos want to tint this a bit more blue then it really is but I can't seem to figure a way to stop that.

I used Gypsy Wanderings for the shape on the left and Wild Card for the sentiment.  This is NOT the way I envisioned this card at all.  This was a total crafting misfit project.  Let me put it this way, 2 of my teeth are now blue from an unfortunate gel pen experience before using my actual Cricut inks in the Cricut.  I thought this would be quick and simple but it ended up taking more time then anything I have done in recent history.

My Mind's Eye has come out with a pack of all their paisley papers! I love it this background paper is from that.  I am loving that paper stack!

I originally just inked the stuff on but the white was shocking and basically horrid.  So I chalked the white paper some.  In person it isn't so blue but it works :)

I would love to see what you come up with!  Join us at Celebrate the Occasion and show us what you come up with!

Getting Cricky Blog Hop- For our Fallen Heroes

Welcome to Our Monthly Blog Hop at

We are honoring our fallen heroes this month.

Each Design Team member has created a card to give to a family that has lost someone during their service.
This is VERY personal to me because I have many family and friends that serve.  However, my extended family just lost a young man, only 22 years old, in combat in Afghanistan.  I had asked the DT if anyone wanted to send cards to the family.  Then Kristal, in all her generosity, suggested we do an entire hop for families in this situation.

I am so excited to see the outpouring of love from my DT sisters.  This really is a great bunch of girls to work with.  My term with the design team is just about over and Kristal is actually doing design team call right now.  If you are interested take a hop over there and check it out.

Do you want to contribute a card to the cause?  In August I am going to an event for Fallen Heroes.  At this event I will hand deliver cards that people have made in honor of their lost loved ones.  The fact that my bloggy friends are pouring  out love for this cause makes my blogging time so worth it. Make sure to go to Getting Cricky for more information!

About the card:
Sadly, I think this looks MUCH better in person!  UGH!  I hate it when that happens.
I used Wild Card for the cuts.
Then I crumpled up the paper and distressed it with gold ink.
The sentiment is from "Amazing You" by K Andrew

Sympathy card

My post on Tuesday talked a lot about where my heart is this week.  I am not shaking that place well.  However, it is in a positive sense.  I want to just make sure everybody I love knows it.  There is a song that reminds me of the day I got the phone call that brought me to my knees and I think it would speak to many hearts.  I wanted to share it.

We have had two friends lose a family member this week and here is what I created for sympathy cards.  I think those are by far the hardest to make.  I used Stretch Your Imagination for the tree and Wild Card (I think) for the sentiment and I drew them with Amy Chomas gel pens.
I didn't realize how horrid the picture quality was until now... and I just mailed the dang things!

Tacky Tuesday Guest Designer!

Have you ever checked out Tacky Tuesday's?  It is all about puns.  This challenge is to use the word "sea" on your card and use a cut to go with it from any cartridge.  I was so excited when I got home and found my new Splashtastic Summer stamps by K Andrew had come in.  They were perfect to go along with this challenge.

I had no sentiment with the word "sea" in it so I created my own using Chomas Creations gel pens in my Cricut.  Have you tried that yet?!  I just got them recently and love that I can create any sentiment I want because I have cool pens and a pen holder for my Cricut.

The sun is cut from Wild Card, the octopus is from Life is a Beach, and the "Sea" you soon sentiment was written with Lyrical Letters.
Sentiment is from K Andrew's Splashtastic Summer set

Done with Amy Chomas gel pens and pen holder in my Cricut

Faces are Peachy Keen.  Embossing is done with my Big Kick.

NSD Challenge #1

Challenge number one at My Pink Stamper is - Anything Cupcake!!!

Do you ever create something for a challenge and then think... "Wow, that is horrid!"?  This is my recent horrid one.  Typically I would scrap it and recreate.  However, I am totally exhausted and have had a long weekend so I am going with this card as is.  I am going to set my alarm to get up super early tomorrow morning to make my son a better birthday card but that doesn't usually go so well! :)

I cut the card from Wild Card.  It won't stand up... this makes me nuts!!!  The sentiment is from Sweet Treats.

I am also entering this into Birthday Sundaes recipe.  The recipe was for 2 patterned papers (cupcake liner and candle) and 3 different embellishments (flame, sprinkles, and velvet ribbon).
