Introducing Show and Tells

***Follower give away coming soon!

As you may know, I am a Kindergarten teacher.  One of the best parts of Kindergarten is seeing the excitement in kids when they show off something they have done.  It really is no different as adults. It is cool to see what other people have done.  We bloggers can't really hide the fact that we like to show what we have done either ;).

Weekly I am going to start doing an open show and tell.  Some weeks I will have "rules" but there will be a good share of whatever you want!  My only request is that you visit some of the others that have posted and leave them some blog love.  It is just the nice thing to do.

Each week I will pick someone that has shared and have them guest design for a future week!

The whole purpose of this is to give everyone's blog some additional exposure.  If you visit someone's blog and you like what you see start following them.  If you are inspired tell them! This whole thing is just about having fun.

When you link up link up to a specific project you want to share.  We want to see new projects.  I do ask that you link to this blog in your post.  I will delete links that don't.  The reason is that this is to get everyone traffic and if you don't send people here it is a dead end.  I never require people to be followers.  If you are linking up it would be great if you are but it is NOT required.

Here is my show and tell this week:

This is a little frame thing I made to sell in a local store.  The images are cut from Life is a Beach.  The cardstock is embossed with a spellbinders thing and sanded down (I used my favorite- Coredinations.)  I can't remember what my font was done with...

Your turn.  PLEASE share a project!  One person will get to guest design here soon!  Feel free to combine it with other challenges and hops!!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday: Summer Fun

Happy Sunday!

This week I was at the beach and I noticed how everything sparkles and shimmers on the beach.  Even the sand twinkles!  Kristal at Getting Cricky challenged us to make summer projects this week, which go wonderfully with her Splashtastic Summer stamps!  I wanted to make mine sparkle like the beach.  I made the sand "clumpy" because the sand at the beach is inconsistent and varying.

If you are a follower you have seen that I have a goal to reach 300 followers by August 25th!  If I meet my goal there is some blog candy.

This week I am adding Fiskars texture plates to the prize package.  In this project I used 2 of the 12 patterns you can win!  The ocean is made with "waves" and the sand is made with "scales."  I cut the ball from Life's A Beach and the stamps are from K Andrew.

This was a busy week.  I gave my craft space a transformation- I couldn't even work in there anymore! As the week goes on I will reveal some of the "after" shots!  I spent less than $25 and I am so happy with how it ended up after DAYS of cleaning! Here are my before pics:

Challenges:
Creative Inspirations- Summer Vacation
Peachy Keen- sketch
Crafty Catz Weekly- Colors of summer
All Sorts Challenge- Free and Easy

Tacky Tuesday Guest Designer!

Have you ever checked out Tacky Tuesday's?  It is all about puns.  This challenge is to use the word "sea" on your card and use a cut to go with it from any cartridge.  I was so excited when I got home and found my new Splashtastic Summer stamps by K Andrew had come in.  They were perfect to go along with this challenge.

I had no sentiment with the word "sea" in it so I created my own using Chomas Creations gel pens in my Cricut.  Have you tried that yet?!  I just got them recently and love that I can create any sentiment I want because I have cool pens and a pen holder for my Cricut.

The sun is cut from Wild Card, the octopus is from Life is a Beach, and the "Sea" you soon sentiment was written with Lyrical Letters.
Sentiment is from K Andrew's Splashtastic Summer set

Done with Amy Chomas gel pens and pen holder in my Cricut

Faces are Peachy Keen.  Embossing is done with my Big Kick.

  Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut- include a sun on your project
Paper Creations and Ink- beach theme
Sentimental Sundays- summer
Sparkles Forum Challenges- At the beach
Stamptacular Sunday- fun in the sun
Card Cupids- summer
Annabelle Stamps- yellow, orange, turquise

Very simple and quick birthday card for my husband

This week I am on "vacation" with the kids and hubby is back home :(.  It seemed fine when I first agreed to it but I am not sure how much longer I will stay on vacation, turns out I miss him.  We are pretty much just hanging our the place where we are staying and I have a nice big room.  So I brought a few crafting things and I have still been doing some simple simple stuff.  So, today I made this quick birthday card to send to my husband for his birthday this week.  He loves fishing so it was perfect.

I cut the pole 5 or 6 times before I actually found a card stock that would work without tearing at that size, and it was Core'dinations of course! ;)

Most of the other card stock on here is my other favorite, Bazzill.

The fish and pole are from Camp Out and the water is from Life is a Beach.  The sentiment and tag are from Base Camp.

I am entering it into the following challenges:

Birthday anything goes

Thank You Card, Life Is A Beach

This is a thank you card for one of my friends that made me a meal while I was recovering from my surgery.

This card went through SEVERAL attempts before I was ok with how it came out.  So, I have plenty of scrap cards LOL!

The flower is cut from Life is a Beach per the challenge for CCCC.  I had to adapt the flower because the stamen sort of shoots out of it, and frankly without a layer option it looked bizarre and male anatomy like.  I know that is totally inappropriate but it was way too much for me to look at so I cut it off.   Sorry if all that offends you but hey you should have seen the card. :)  I made the colors in yellow, blue and white with the card/border option per the challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge.

I cut the card, used colored pencils for the flowers, and "pearls" from the dollar items at A.C. Moore.  The stamp is part of a stamp I picked up out of a dollar bin somewhere.  The yellow card stock is some Bazzil Basics stuff with texture.

Thanks for visiting!  Welcome to any new followers!!!

Another name sign

There is someone on my shopping list that likes pink flamingos and golfing... how in the world can I tie that together I wondered?  My husband thought the idea of a flamingo driving a golf cart was ridiculous... so of course I had to make the flamingo drive the golf cart.  The person I was making this for has their "winter" home done in yellows, blues, and white so I wanted to bring in those colors.  Here is what the final product is...

Sorry about my reflection in the way here!  I also had to crop the heck out of it to hide the HUGE pile of laundry in the background... lots of laundry got washed this weekend while I crafted.  Of course it is all in the chair now.  I keep thinking MAYBE my husband will see that it is right next to him and fold it- hey a woman can dream right?!

This is not my favorite work I have done but it seems just right for the person I made it for, so I am going to go with it.

I used a regular frame that my hubby painted white for me.  Then for Cricut cartridges I used Life's A Beach and Everyday Paper Dolls.
