Cooking with Cricut Guest Designer!
Ok, I am a blog snob. Yep, I am. I have some blogs that I am totally loyal and faithful too. Instead of making myself crazy applying for every DT thing that pops up I have decided to be a faithful follower to the blogs I most like. Then, when something comes up, I can feel good about applying and saying how much I enjoy that blog. That is how I started with my DT spot at Getting Cricky.
Just about every week I have tried to link up to the challenge at Cooking with Cricut. The challenges are fun over there and the DT does wonderful work. It helps that that challenge drives some good traffic to my blog too ;). You know, I am one of those stats stalkers. I love numbers and frankly I love attention so reading my stat info gives me a funny little high. CWC feeds that ;)
Here is my post over at their page:
I want to start my post by saying- Thank you so much to the team at Cooking with Cricut for asking me to do this. I was SO EXCITED when I was contacted by you! I have been watching the challenges on this blog for months and participate often because I love them! It is great to be a part of this and I feel very honored that you asked me to do this! Your DT is incredible and I am given so much inspiration from their work!
Celebrations was one of my first cartridges! My mother bought me my first Cricut for Christmas and gave me two cartridges Celebrations and Stretch Your Imagination. Sometimes I get so bogged down in what is new that I forget my oldies but goodies. So when CWC contacted me about doing this I thought I would explore a forgotten cartridge on my Gypsy. I got my first Cricut for Christmas 2009 and for Christmas 2010 hubby bought me the Expression. I had wanted a Cricut for a couple of years before getting one so I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! Then I couldn't live without having a Gypsy for Christmas 2010 mom got me that. My mother is great at gift giving! My life hasn't been the same ;). Crafting has quickly become my passion. I am a Kindergarten teacher and mother of 2 so my machines get plenty of use! I joined the blogging world in January of 2011 and have found that to be an addiction that I love to feed. I look forward to reading comments from my followers and find I need to check those as often as I check Facebook (which is A LOT). In the summer I spend most of my time enjoying my 2 kids and husband. We try to go to the ocean at least once a week and we camp as often as we can. Camping is an acquired taste that I am still working on but this summer it is far better than last. As a kid I loved it, but now I love real beds and AC. The only bad thing about camping is my Cricut doesn't come... yet.
For my project I created some gift bags with matching tags and a card.

NSD Challenge #12
Challenge number 12 from My Pink Stamper--Make a Scrapbook Page, Card, or other with a Kid's theme!
This is a bucket of dirt for my son! He turns 10 tomorrow (Yes, there have been tears from me.). I have no idea how he can keep getting older and I don't age a bit ;) Every year on his birthday he requests that I make dirt for his friends at school.
There are all sorts of recipes for this online but I don't do cooking. I don't do recipes. I really don't do kitchen. So I made 3 small things of chocolate pudding and let it set. Then I stirred in a big thing of cool whip. I put gummy worms throughout the bucket. Then I got some Oreos and crushed them up. I layered Oreos and pudding mix throughout the bucket.
The Happy Birthday is from Celebrations and the font for my son's name was done with Lyrical Letters. Lyrical Letters is quickly becoming my new favorite font! It is on there with repositionable vinyl.

First Blog Hop- 100th day of school banner
I have never done a blog hop... I created a blog just so I could participate in things like this so here is my first chance!
My Pink Stamper is doing the blog hop. I watch her blog faithfully and am pretty excited about participating. The challenge was to do black with our favorite colors. I teach Kindergarten so when I do something for school I LOVE any bright colors I can get my hands on! Monday we are celebrating our 100th day of school so I thought this was a good excuse to make a banner.
To do this I used Celebrations and Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridges. I would love any feedback on this project or my others. I am new to this and love when people share ideas with me!!!
Most of all THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 3 of my blog- Party Hat gift bag
Day 3 of my first blog and I actually made something today too! I am feeling accomplished! Maybe I will make something tomorrow too... MAYBE I will be motivated to actually finish my scrapbook from 2001- now that is a hefty goal!
For the birthday party tomorrow I have decided to go from drab to... well... to something other than drab. Here it is before... a nice INEXPENSIVE bag :)
Tada.... the final product.
For the birthday party tomorrow I have decided to go from drab to... well... to something other than drab. Here it is before... a nice INEXPENSIVE bag :)
Still boring :( (I had cut the pom pom top off before gluing it to the bag) This hat is cut from the Celebrations cartridge. I used the blackout feature for the blue. |
I also cut some other sizes of the "pom poms" so that I could layer them. It is hard to see in the picture but the 2 small ones are embossed with embossing powder. I just wanted a little shine :) |
Not what I was hoping for.... I tried twisting up the pieces for dimension but still not loving it. |
I like it with the star! This made me happier. Of course it is off center which I later had to fix before it drove me NUTS!!! |
Are you sick of my pics of this tiny silly little project yet? I admit I just love taking pics of anything. On this one I curled them up more and I like the dimension. |
