Show and Tell (for YOU) and Owl party favor bags

***If you are looking for the 300 Follower Give Away click here."

So, yeah I teach Kindergarten and show and tell is something we do in a bit of a different way but we still have time to show off something and tell about it.  We are really no different as adults, I mean that is part of why we blog right?!

I thought I would start show and tell here on my blog.  I am not sure if I am going to do it weekly or monthly yet we will see how it goes.

You do NOT need to have a blog to play.  You can post your show and tell on my Facebook page if you do not have a blog.  Then on Mr. Linky below just link us to your image on FB.

I do have a couple of guidelines for show and tell:
* Please link us directly to the post you want to show us NOT your entire blog.
* No back linking, project must be posted after the date/time I post
* If you turn off word verification I would love it ;)  It makes commenting so much easier for everyone.
* You need to link your post back to this blog.
I reserve the right to delete any links that don't follow the guidelines.  (Well, I won't delete it over word verification that is just a helpful one.)

I will pick one person who has linked up to provide the inspiration for a future show and tell!  Make sure to check out my plans for blog candy!

Here is what I created for show and tell this week:

My daughter wanted to have a slumber party while camping so she invited a couple of friends.  We kept everything pretty low key but had a lot of fun despite rain and the temps not going above 55 degrees!  Lately I have been using my Give a Hoot cartridge more, that is where the owl came from.  Isn't he cute?!  The sentiment is another fabulous one from K Andrew Designs "Amazing You".  I am new to stamping and Kristal has been great with ideas and things.  When I first saw this set I wasn't sure about it.  It is a bunch of random words I thought.  So I shared my opinion with Kristal and she pointed out that I use the set to mix and match.  DUH!  How the heck did I now know that LOL.  Now that I am a TINY bit more educated I LOVE the set!  My 8 year old thought it was very cool that was on the bags too!

I am looking forward to seeing your creations!

Forever Friends- birthday

Tuesday Teasers! "You Float My Boat"

Do you ever start a card and you have something in mind and you go in an entirely other direction?!  When I started I jumped off from the inspiration photo at Crafty Hos.  However, that quickly went out the window when I saw the cut on Give a Hoot and thought that would be super cute with my "You float my boat" sentiment in the Splashtastic Summer Set from K Andrew Designs.

Recipe:
Bazzill cardstock
brown chalk for the boat
Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge
Boat dimensional stickers
K Andrew Splashtastic Summer stamps

As always, take a guess at what you think is being added to the prize package this week.  When I hit 300 followers by August 25th there will be a Give Away!  I still need 82 more!  So if you like what you see on my blog tell your friends about me ;)

Challenges:
Crafty Hos listed above
Pollycraft- water theme
Corrosive Challenge Blog- all about getting wet

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Penned

So for this Getting Cricky challenge I tried out some brand new pens I got.  They are soooooooooooo cool!  You put them in your Cricut!  You may have seen my sympathy card earlier this week done with the pens. The pens are from Amy Chomas- hop over there and tell her I sent you! They work wonderfully when put alongside the things I am already using- for example, my K Andrew stamps. Visit Kristal and tell her what stamps you love- make sure to tell her I sent you!

Done with Amy Chomas pens

K Andrew "Positive Thoughts" stamps

My BIL just got a job as a Forest Technician.  This is something he has wanted for a long time and we are all very happy for him that he is about to do what he has wanted for so long.  So the stamp "Live the Life You Want" by K Andrew from Positive Thoughts was PERFECT for this!  Don't you love it when you have the perfect sentiment for what you are saying?!

I couldn't resist this paper stack from DCWV, it is "The Green Stack" and made with recycled paper.  If you know me in "real life" you know I am far from green.  The environment is not on my radar... I realize this is not a good thing and I am working on it but if everything about being green was as fun as this paper it would be so much more fun!

Have you checked out my 300 follower give away I am hoping to do in August?

Challenges:
Dream Valley Challenges- ribbon
ScrapCreations- animal or jungle theme
Tuesday Throwdown- card for a man
Crafty Cardmakers- sentiment is focus

Sympathy card

My post on Tuesday talked a lot about where my heart is this week.  I am not shaking that place well.  However, it is in a positive sense.  I want to just make sure everybody I love knows it.  There is a song that reminds me of the day I got the phone call that brought me to my knees and I think it would speak to many hearts.  I wanted to share it.

We have had two friends lose a family member this week and here is what I created for sympathy cards.  I think those are by far the hardest to make.  I used Stretch Your Imagination for the tree and Wild Card (I think) for the sentiment and I drew them with Amy Chomas gel pens.
I didn't realize how horrid the picture quality was until now... and I just mailed the dang things!

Challenges:

A card for fun ;)

Well, what is a girl to do when it is vacation and new stamps arrive in the mail?  How about when you spend a day sick on the couch watching YouTube tutorials?  Here is what you do... you make 2 lists.  One list is things to make and the other is things to buy.  So, I tried to shop.  That didn't go well considering I am still not feeling well and I then worked on a card.  I made tons of mistakes but I had fun trying!  In fact one of the flowers on this is covering an eyelet nightmare.  When creating this card I followed a sketch found at My Creative Time for their Throwback Thursday challenge.  They want us to create without Cricut and Gypsy this week.  All I wanted was to cut some butterflies... I hate rules :)  In reality I love rules I am a strange one but I hated them when doing this.

 Here is what I did:

I started with white paper and blended dye inks with my new "Ink Blending Tool" I bought this morning ;).
Then I used VersaMark to stamp the sentiment from K Andrew stamps "Amazing You" set on and sprinkled with silver embossing powder then I heated it up!
The flowers are from Prima flowers which I am beginning to adore.
The punch is EK success and today I finally figured out how to line it up.  I am a total crafting misfit... you should see me trying to do stuff!

Thanks for looking! On Tuesday's I reveal a sneak peak at my 300 follower give away.  HOWEVER, in celebration of nothing in particular there will be a special installment tomorrow so make sure to come back!  I never want followers that follow me for blog candy and give-aways.  BUT if you like what you see I would love the compliment of you following me ;)

Other challenges:
Crafty Creations- sparkle (My sentiment is sparkle and I love it!)
Creative Craft Challenges- making your own backing paper

Tuesday Teasers!

Sorry this is coming so late tonight!  I thought for sure I would have crafting time earlier tonight but I spent most of the day at funeral services showing support to someone who lost their brother. It makes me think about how our life is not our own.  Today could be our last, not to be morbid.  We need to be prepared, to be right with who we are and what we believe in.  We walk around this world with the "it can't happen to us" mentality but the bottom line is it can happen to us.  Many of us have lost someone close to us, some expected some unexpected.  How do you process the loss?  How do you react?  What does it do to your faith?  Does it shake you and move you?  Does it motivate you to tell others you love them?  Does it remind you of the things you have been saying you need to do but you will do it "later."  Are you fearful of that day?  Are you excited about that day?  My biggest question- does your loss define you or do you define your loss?  Is your loss your identity or is it your reminder to give yourself identity in what you believe in?

So anyway, :)
For more information on Tuesday Teasers click here.
Last week I was SUPER busy with the blog hop and didn't get back to you with what was free from that sneak peak!
Here is the sneak peak again:
This is the gift we put the tag on:
My son and I made the gift basket of Smart Food and drink mix for his teacher who loves those things.
Many of you guessed right!!! Prima flowers are the giveway from this sneak peak!  This will be the first thing in our 300 follower prize pack!

Here is this week's project.  It isn't my favorite project but it is "OK" and a bit different.  I created this as a thank you to one of my students for a wind chime she gave me at our end of year picnic:

I will try to get a better pic in the morning in natural light!

Recipe:

Gel pens for stiching
Sizzix texture plate for embossing
Amy Chomas gel pens "cutting" from Accent Essentials for the flower
Colorbok puffy stickers

So, I am taking your guesses for what is in the prize pack from this project!  Check back on Freebie Friday to see if your guess is right!

Tacky Tuesday Guest Designer!

Have you ever checked out Tacky Tuesday's?  It is all about puns.  This challenge is to use the word "sea" on your card and use a cut to go with it from any cartridge.  I was so excited when I got home and found my new Splashtastic Summer stamps by K Andrew had come in.  They were perfect to go along with this challenge.

I had no sentiment with the word "sea" in it so I created my own using Chomas Creations gel pens in my Cricut.  Have you tried that yet?!  I just got them recently and love that I can create any sentiment I want because I have cool pens and a pen holder for my Cricut.

The sun is cut from Wild Card, the octopus is from Life is a Beach, and the "Sea" you soon sentiment was written with Lyrical Letters.
Sentiment is from K Andrew's Splashtastic Summer set

Done with Amy Chomas gel pens and pen holder in my Cricut

Faces are Peachy Keen.  Embossing is done with my Big Kick.

  Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut- include a sun on your project
Paper Creations and Ink- beach theme
Sentimental Sundays- summer

The sentiment is from K Anderew's Positive Thoughts

Getting Cricky Blog Hop Preview Day 3!

Have you been over to Getting Cricky yet?!  I am going to keep sending you all week long!

Here is another card for you from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  When I first got this stamp set I was thinking about ways I could use the stamps and I am pretty excited about everything you can do with them!

Today's stamp is "Challenges are just opportunities disguised."  This card is for my daughter's Title 1 teacher.  Reading is a struggle for my little one.  That is so hard when you teach other kids to read.  You wonder why you aren't able to help your kid but you can help others.  I watch her struggle and see her frustration and it is heart breaking.  HOWEVER, she has the opportunity to work with an INCREDIBLE teacher every day as a result of her reading challenges.  We are so thankful that this teacher has come into her life.  She finally has tested out of Title 1, in large part because this teacher believed in her and helped her.

This is the gift she gave her teacher to go with the card.  It is a name sign for her desk or classroom.  My kids want to give EVERYONE name signs right now!

Recipe:
Core'Dinations cardstock for the grass.  I sanded it and tore it.
The blue cardstock is Bazzill
The butterfly and flowers are K&Company
The stamp is K Andrew's from Positive Thoughts

Getting Cricky Blog Hop Preview 2 and First Tuesday Teasers installment!

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Morninggggggggggggggggggggggggg!

This is my LAST Tuesday of work before summer vacation.  I go until Monday so I am really counting the days now!  More time for crafting is coming soon WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  My other K Andrew Getting Cricky stamps will be arriving just in time ;)  I am anxiously waiting for them!

Friday night is our big night for releasing the stamps.  I am so excited for you to see everything Kristal has in store!  Are you joining us on the UStream show?!

Anyone who comments on all 5 of my Blog Hop preview posts this week is eligible to receive one of her stamp sets FREE from me on Saturday!  Yep, blog candy- sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Some of the other DT members are giving away blog candy too so make sure you check them out too!

Here is a tag I made for my son's teacher's gift.  She has the BEST attitude.  She has made such an impact on my son's life with her attitude.  I have the Positive Thoughts stamps.  I was showing them to my 10 year old and asking him to pick the one he wanted for her tag.  He took some time and was in deep thought.  Then he says to me "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.  Can't you find something that doesn't tell her how much I like her?!"  These stamps obviously show someone you care! ;)  So, if you want to show someone you NEED these, just ask my son!

You know what I found out today?!  You can emboss with these stamps.  That is not something I can usually do with sentiments.  I stamped this with my VersaMark pad and then sprinkled embossing powder on it and heated it up.  It went great!  It worked first try!!! WOOO HOOO.

TUESDAY TEASERS:
As promised, every Tuesday I will be revealing a free blog candy item in my final prize package for when I reach 300 followers by August.  I will show a project using the items and you will comment on the project guessing which item on the project is part of the prize package.  Then on Fabulous Fan Friday I will tell you which item it was!  Make sure to comment on the post with what you think the freebie is because you never know when I may have an extra to ship out ;).

Blog Hop Preview Day 1

Friday night is our UStream and Blog Hop at Getting Cricky.  Are you ready?!

This week I will show you different projects leading up to the hop on Friday night.

Today's card is a graduation card.  The cuts come from Everyday Paper Dolls.  The sentiment is from Kristal at Getting Cricky on her Positive Thoughts stamp set.  This card was made for my cousin, his school color is red.

The graduation party was this weekend.  It was a cold rainy day but I love any excuse to see the ocean :)  My kids are way off in the distance bundled up in warm clothes!!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Anything Goes

This week it is "anything goes" at Getting Cricky.  I can't wait to see what you have to create for this challenge!

For my project I made a wedding gift.  I saw something like this on YouTube once. This project is an example of why I call myself the "Crafting Misfit." I tried to do it just like she did.  YIKES!  NOT a good turn out.  It was a nightmare.  There were tears, a bit of wanting to kick my Cricut, and of course it was all my husband's fault. LOL.  The issue was getting the glue to keep the glass on the frame.  I tried a glue gun.  NOT something that worked. So, I was going to try another glue that a good friend recommended but I ended up running out of time to get back to the store.  So my husband gave me something to use- this is why it is all his fault LOL.  That glue, or whatever it was, didn't work well because it kept smearing on the glass.  So, I spent lots of time with Windex and a razor blade trying to clean the glass.  In the end, I was mostly satisfied with the gift although I wish it had been cleaner.  Wow, now that was a long story!!!

The black font is Base Camp and the gray is Gypsy Font (I think!)  I thought I saved the file, but I didn't :(

Here is one I made for another wedding:

Don't forget about the blog hop and UStream coming up Friday night the 17th!  There will be lots of blog candy along the way and some great chances for free stuff!!!  Are you planning on joining us?!

Thanks for looking!
